Deploy Up to 32 Physical Servers

Vantage on VMware, formerly known as Teradata Virtual Machine Edition, is an enterprise-grade software offering which can be deployed on up to 32 physical servers with 128 virtual nodes (vnodes). It can be deployed with 3, 4, 5, or 6 physical cores per vnode—corresponding to 6, 8, 10 or 12 virtual cores with hyper-threading enabled. Script-based installation enables spinning up multiple instances of Vantage, even on a single hardware device. Because Vantage on VMware provides multiple version templates, it is ideal for customers who want to do new release or feature testing by running multiple releases side-by-side.

Use Case: Test and Development Environments 

Vantage on VMware’s script-based deployment on a VMware virtual platform provides an agile and cost-effective option to experiment with physical database design changes, prototype new applications, maintain multiple database versions for testing, and isolate development from production systems.
